Hail Repair FAQs
WHAT IS PAINTLESS DENT REPAIR ?
Paintless Dent Repair (PDR), also known as Paintless Dent Removal is a fairly new discovery which involves an accumulation of techniques for repairing and removing dents and dings from automobiles. This concept has proven to be more cost effective when dealing with hail repair than the traditional methods of conventional hail repairs which includes a more intense and expensive process requiring paint and body filler over the vehicle. Keeping your factory paint is the industries preferred method to use if possible because the factory finish is typically the best and is often difficult to duplicate. Paintless dent repair helps to maintain the value of your vehicle by a process of gently massaging the dents with the most precise position of the tool being used. However, it is not always possible to save your factory finish over your entire vehicle because the hail damage is to severe. If this is the case, then your vehicle may have some conventional and some paintless hail repairs.
What if I don’t get the hail damage on my car fixed?
Generally, there is a restriction for “unrepaired damage” in effect on your insurance policy. This means that you continue to pay premiums for full coverage but you are NO LONGER COVERED for repairs on hail damaged areas!
Do I have to use the repair facility my insurance recommends?
Personally I would never take my vehicle to the more commercialized companies that your insurance recommends. By law, you can take your car to the shop of your choice. Body Shops will actually be contracting your cars work with a PDR technician or company like ours. Most large high volume body shops rarely use the same PDR tech twice and quality varies. You do NOT have to take your vehicle to the recommended repair facility. The choice is totally yours!
Why are the estimates on my vehicle higher than the check I received from the insurance company?
DFW dent repair will contact the insurance company. No customer is responsible for more than their deductible.
Will my auto hail damage claim make my insurance go up?
NO, hail damage to your vehicle is a comprehensive claim. They are not considered like at fault accidents and they don’t affect personal rates. Comprehensive rates are set throughout zip codes.
